Black Piranhas on P220 Equinox. But the M11-A1 is a throwback model to the P228, which had the same grips. Looks great and grip is fine.

This could be caused by a weak magazine spring or a sticky follower. I have seen several M11-A1 magazines that shipped with very a viscous preservative on the inside of the magazine body. Try cleaning the inside of the magazine and confirm the follower moves freely along the entire length of the body.I think that Mec-Gar 18rd P229 mag comes with a +3 adapter so it is not flush fit and will be slightly loose because it is the same width as a P226 mag.
